Whenever you complete your course, you complete it. If you talk about celebrations, most colleges do them in May (late spring semester). You can attend the ceremony after class because you will not receive your diploma. They will send it to you or you will have to pick it up from somewhere. I didn't go to the graduation ceremony. I have just received my diploma in the mail to be able to work in January (I will graduate / course in December).

Most students in traditional courses graduate in late May or early June. However, some students graduate sooner or later and only after the second semester (usually December / January).
